rule changes of the ADAAG final draft of April 2002á - Rule 410 Platform Lifts:
òThe
platform lift safety standard referenced is now ASME A18.1a.á
This means the independently usable inclined platform
lifts, equipped with passenger restraining arms, are
recognized by ADAAG as a viable
accessibility solution.
òDoors
and gates on vertical lifts that have a 90
degree exit or that are on/off the
same side are required to have power
operated doors.á There is no such
requirement for vertical platform lifts that have
doors or gates on opposite sides (straight through entry /
exit).
